Our November meeting featured a demo by Elizabeth Weber. The title of Elizabeth’s demo is: “Carving the Wave/Leaf Motif on Your Turned Pieces”. In the 1 hour, 33 minute demo, Elizabeth shows how she carves the “Wave / Leaf” patterns on her bowls using both power and hand tools. She also shows how she adds color with milk paint.
A recording of the demo is now available – the video will stay up for 30 days.
Demo Description: “In this demonstration, I’ll cover finding inspiration, the importance of story boards, and tools, tips, and tricks for creating the wave/leaf motifs on your turned objects. This will include ways to highlight the wood or add additional textures to the piece. I’ll finally show one of my favorite ways to add color to your finished work by using milk paint.”
